We were asked to run a series of sessions using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology in conjunction with Design Thinking to deliver an innovative business support programme to support the Northumberland Small Business Service in Conjunction with the SME Centre of Excellence. Subjects covered included: Personal motivations, commercial modelling, value proposition design, branding.
Brief: To deliver a series of innovative and immersive 1-1 sessions to a wide range of attendees and companies that would engage and inform to an exceptional level.
The sessions were designed to be highly interactive and informative while being relevant to all attendees regardless of size or sector.
Outcomes: participant feedback was extremely positive especially around the use of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® as a method for knowledge creation around potentially complex subjects.
“I approached it with an open mind and did my best to trust the process as much as my chimp brain would allow.
I love design and had heard of design thinking but hadn’t experienced it firsthand. This was my introduction through Lego Serious Play, basically a simple tool to unlock flow and let intuition take over the decision-making.
The verdict? Surprisingly insightful!
As the pieces started to (literally) come together, I began to articulate my jumbled thoughts and feelings in a way that made sense, even surprising myself with the narrative I was able to create – something I might have struggled with if I were simply put on the spot.”
